Identify the model before downloading
An unknown entry does not justify a random driver.
Open the affected entry’s Properties and confirm Code 28 under Device status. Record the displayed name and PC or accessory model.
Find a package only through the manufacturer’s official support for that model and Windows version. Ask support before installing if you cannot identify it.

Reinstall the entry with the driver available
Prepare alternative input or connectivity if an essential device is affected.
Save your work. In Device Manager, select only the entry with Code 28 and choose Uninstall device; do not select options to remove other devices’ packages.
Choose Action > Scan for hardware changes. If a driver is requested, supply the official package identified for the model following its instructions.
Check Device status. If it now reports Code 10, follow that diagnosis rather than repeating removal.
Still not working?
If Code 28 returns, ask the manufacturer to confirm model, architecture and package compatibility. Do not use driver sites, similar-looking IDs or unofficial automatic installers.
