Windows discovery cannot replace a physical or network connection.

  1. Confirm that the printer is on. For USB, seat both cable ends and try another PC port. If Windows reports a USB device error, use that related issue.

  2. For Wi-Fi, check the network on the printer display or in its manual and compare it with the PC. Ask IT how to connect to a managed office printer.
