Step-by-step solutions
Check the connection used for the transfer
Leave the source data intact.
If the operation depends on a PlayStation service, check its status. Wait before transferring again if an incident is reported.
Try a wired connection when possible. If staying on Wi-Fi, check distance and obstacles relative to the router before retrying.
Retry once the operation has ended with an error
Do not cut off a transfer that is still active.
Once PS5 lets you leave the failed operation, save remaining work and restart the console normally.
Return to the transfer flow and review what it proposes to retry. If it warns about replacing or deleting data, do not confirm without checking the destination and having a copy.
Still not working?
If it fails again on a stable connection, tell PlayStation which transfer you were performing and whether wired access worked. Do not delete source data, change ports or reset the console to force the transfer.
