Diagnostic signals
- ObservationOnly one service fails
- If the console has internet access, check PlayStation status before changing the network.
Step-by-step solutions
Check the selected connection
Check the network name and password before changing advanced settings.
Open Settings > Network > Settings > Set Up Internet Connection. For Wi-Fi, select your network and confirm its password with its administrator.
For LAN, check the cable connectors and select Set Up Wired LAN > Connect. Try an app after connecting.
Separate network and service failures
Use the result to choose the next support path.
Check PlayStation status from another device. Changing PS5 DNS settings does not fix a service outage.
To locate the failure, try another app and another device on the same network. If all fail, report that scope to your provider; if only one game fails, keep its message.
Check network compatibility with the administrator
Leave router changes to whoever manages the network.
For a hidden network, obtain its name and security method for manual setup. Do not guess passwords or security settings.
Sony states that PS5 cannot use an IPv6-only network. Ask the administrator to check that condition when relevant; do not change IP, MTU or proxy settings without a specific reason.
Still not working?
If it still fails, give PlayStation Repairs the exact message, connection type and check results. Do not reset the console for a failure that has not been identified.
