Step-by-step solutions
Try known working power and connections
Do not use a visibly damaged cable or adapter.
Inspect the cable and adapter before connecting them. Stop using damaged accessories. Firmly connect a compatible charger to a working wall outlet and the iPhone; try another outlet if needed.
If the iPhone responds, restart it normally and reconnect it. Check whether charging starts or a specific alert appears; stop reconnecting if it reports liquid.
Inspect the port and try another compatible accessory
Visual inspection does not require inserting tools.
Disconnect the cable and look for debris or visible port damage. Do not insert metal or sharp objects or force a connection; get safe cleaning or inspection for lodged debris or damage.
If the port appears clear and dry, try another known working compatible cable and adapter. Leave the iPhone connected and check for a charging-state change. If the screen remains black, follow the iPhone-will-not-turn-on guide.
Still not working?
If it will not charge with checked power and accessories, contact Apple. Mention any alert or whether it stays off; do not replace the battery or port based only on charging failure.
