Error code

Sony describes an error reading application or system software data. The code alone does not identify a faulty SSD. Whether it affects one title or several contexts changes what to investigate next.

Step-by-step solutions

01

Record where the error appears

Identify whether it is associated with a game or app.

  1. Keep the code and the operation that triggers it: starting a title, using an app or another system action.

  2. Check for a system software update. Do not remove data before establishing the affected scope.

02

Update the system and test again

End the session and save your progress first.

  1. Use the PS5 system software update in Settings and follow the console’s instructions. Do not interrupt installation.

  2. Repeat the failing operation. If only one app is affected, continue with that title; if several are affected, keep that evidence for PlayStation.

Advanced checks

Continue if the earlier steps did not help. Read each procedure’s precautions first.

03

Reinstall the affected title if the failure stays limited to it

Check access and backup first.

  1. Confirm you can obtain the app or game again and protect important saves using a supported backup.

  2. Delete only that installation through its options and reinstall it. Do not select Saved Data or a console reset. Test before making another change.

Next step

Still not working?

If the system or several titles also fail, give PlayStation those results before database or system recovery. A console reset can delete local data: reserve it for a last resort, with a backup and the official procedure confirmed for your case.
