In Settings > Windows Update, record the failed update and its KB number if shown. Save your work and restart the PC normally.
Return to Windows Update and retry once. If the code changes, follow the new result.

Check available storage
Do not delete system folders to free space.
Open Settings > System > Storage. If Windows requests room for the update, review personal files you can move or delete after backing them up.
