Step-by-step solutions
Finish disconnecting and reconnect
Confirm the affected entry and that Windows says it is prepared for removal.
Finish pending operations and physically disconnect the accessory prepared for safe removal. Do not remove a different drive that is transferring data.
Reconnect it normally and check that it is available and works. Leave drivers unchanged if the code has cleared.
Restart if it remains prepared for removal
Use a normal restart after reconnecting.
Save work, choose Restart from Start and wait for it to finish.
Test the device again. If a different code appears, follow that state rather than repeating disconnections.
Still not working?
If it returns without requesting safe removal, contact the manufacturer with the affected device. Do not disable safe-removal mechanisms to avoid the notice.
