Check the system update
Separate a required update from a failed installation.
Check whether a version is available. Do not confuse this with the game’s Check for Update option.

If pending, install it normally. If none is offered, check Console Information and the exact code before preparing USB media. If the message is now WS-116522-7, follow the related failed-update guide.
Install the offered version and check the result
Save progress and choose Update System Software from that screen. Follow the prompts and do not interrupt installation. Then return once to the operation that showed the notice.
If it disappears, updating satisfied the requirement and no further recovery is needed. If the Internet update fails, Sony allows a normal console and network-equipment restart before retrying: do this only when no installation is active and after warning network users. An active official outage is a reason to wait.
If updating over the Internet fails again, use an official alternative below. If it completed and the console confirms it is up to date but CE-107520-5 returns, stop with PlayStation; that result does not confirm storage damage.

Use another official method only if online updating fails
Sony supports updating from a game disc containing newer system software: when starting it, follow the update prompt if shown. Not every disc contains a useful version for your console.
For USB, open the official PS5 system software page and choose the UPDATE file, not the REINSTALLATION file. Use a FAT32 or exFAT drive and the path PS5/UPDATE/PS5UPDATE.PUP. Both packages may have that filename: the name alone does not identify the right one.
With PS5 off and stable power, start Safe Mode by holding Power until the second beep; connect the controller with a USB data cable and press PS. Choose Update System Software > Update from USB Storage Device. Follow the linked official procedure without selecting Reset PS5.
If the file is not recognized, verify the package and folders once. If the official method cannot complete or the current version still gives the same notice, seek support with version, method and code; do not repeat reinstallations or use third-party firmware.
Still not working?
With a confirmed current version and the same recurring notice, PlayStation needs to review the specific operation. State whether updating completed or failed; those are different results. A new download/installation code needs its own diagnosis, not game deletion or a preventive console reset.
