Wi-Fi option missing in Windows

Windows does not show the option to enable Wi-Fi. First check whether the wireless adapter is present and enabled. Restarting the router alone does not restore an adapter Windows cannot detect.

  1. Open Settings > Network & internet and turn airplane mode off.

  2. If the laptop has a wireless switch, check it using its manual; there is no universal key combination.

Check the adapter

Enable only the identified Wi-Fi device.

  1. Open Device Manager and expand Network adapters. Locate the wireless adapter.

  2. If its menu offers Enable device, select it. If it is absent or has an error, record its status and consult the model’s official driver support. Do not disable Ethernet.

Check the WLAN service
